What if some disaster strikes in a flash back lost arm,eye or even death, then you are forced to play the DM cheese card to save them. If you could make sure nothing like that happened it is a great idea.

Thurm this seems like a great way to work everything into whatever plot is going to evolve and if we can figure out how to work in some reoccuring NPCs they may not even see it coming and enjoy it even more. I was thinking something like a little boy whose bull or donkey had died and he approaches the PC's and then because they didn't help in the right way someone (or his whole family) dies and he hold their attitiudes accountable or something along those lines. But things that they might blow of as nothing much only to visit them later.
